Also this should be more specific about what type of wolf, because technically a timber wold just refers to any species of wolf that lives in north America that lives in forest. Now with all that in mind a solitary wolf is not going to f#k with a mountain lion.

Wolfs wont take on a mountain lion in a pack usually. cats are natural born killers and better hunters than dogs all around and this is a well known fact if you're an animal fanatic like myself. the only group of wild cats you find do that are lions. To be completely honest, in this scenario the wolf would probably back off and let them lion have the carcass, then take it out from behind while its eating.
